I am a big fan of your blog and the information you post on a variety of topics in Critical Care. I represent COMPANY Healthcare Critical Care products and would like to sometimes share the content you post by linking back to your blog or article. In order for me to do this, our legal team has requested that you provide written permission to link back and reference your site as non-Siemens external source. Are you able to provide this in a short response?

For example I really enjoyed your podcast on Lactate monitoring and would like to share this with our Respiratory and ED customers as an educational reference by providing the URL back to the site and the podcast.

Do not do this!!! This would establish a relationship between your site and the Company. There is no reason for this. If they just wanted to link to your site, they could do it. You granting them legal permission is silly and tangles you in the evil web.

  1. RSS2 image—what everything but iTunes will see. Two different ways to set this:
    • PowerPress > Settings (overall or your specific category/channel casting) > Feeds > Feed Settings > RSS2 image, or
    • FeedBurner > Optimize > Feed Image Burner (overrides the source).
  2. iTunes image—what only iTunes sees for the podcast directory listing in iTunes. Two different ways to set this:
    • PowerPress > Settings  (overall or your specific category/channel casting) > iTunes > iTunes Feed Settings > iTunes Image, or
    • FeedBurner > Optimize > SmartCast > Podcast image location (overrides the source).
  3. ID3 tags—these are set for each MP3 (or other format) file. This image shows once you’ve downloaded the podcast episode and will display on media players.
